I don’t know what the house wants, 2025, interactive installation, gameplay 25 min,

“I don’t know what the house wants” is the title of a body of work that includes an interactive art game, drawings and sculpture. The work delves into the power of objects over human beings. Drawing from autobiographical elements, the project examines a familial connection to a long-abandoned house in a small Czech village, serving as a ritualistic farewell to disentangle the building’s influence on the artist’s family.
Through sound frequencies and a custom-made controller, players engage with a digital version of a 17th-century building, discovering hidden letters, videos, and sounds that reveal the house’s history. In this experience, the artist shares a performative gesture that was meant to free the castle from its memories through the exposure to vibrations. The drawings simulate the liminal space between the house and its non-physical realm, the place where memories are stored. Ultimately, “I don’t know what the house wants” is a gesture offarewell that focuses on the object’s needs.
